A NEW YEAR...A NEW LOOK

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!! OF COURSE, I REALIZE IT ISN'T HERE QUITE YET, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH. LAURA, FROM ACTUALLY, LAURA, HAS COMPLETED THE NEW LOOK FOR ME. HOPE YOU LIKE IT AND AGREE IT LOOKS MORE LIKE ME THAN THE ORIGINAL.

TODAY IS THE FIRST QUIET DAY I'VE HAD OVER VACATION. STEPHEN KING HAS GONE RABBIT HUNTING WITH OUR BROTHER-IN-LAW AND THE HOUSE IS FINALLY BACK TO NORMAL.....QUIET. CHRISTMAS WAS GOOD, LOTS OF FOOD AND FUN AND FAMILY. HOPE YOU ALL HAD THE SAME. EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY APPEARED TO BE IN THE SHARING MOOD, WE DELIVERED SO MUCH MORE THAN IN PAST YEARS. I WAS STILL DOING VISITS ON FRIDAY. HAPPY TO DO IT, SAD IT NEEDS TO BE DONE, YA KNOW?

JILL, I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE RESORT AND THE DOME. COURTNEY AND I WENT OVER THIS WEEKEND AND SHOPPED THE SHOPS, SAT IN THE DOME AND HAD A CHOCO-TINI. I THOUGHT OF KIRSTIE AND ANNA THE WHOLE TIME I WAS DRINKING IT. OUR RESORTS ARE REALLY MARVELOUS LADIES. WE MUST DO A GAGGLE GET-TOGETHER HERE.

I WENT TO LEXINGTON KY ON SATURDAY WITH SOME FRIENDS FROM HIGH SCHOOL, MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS, NOT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. ANYWAY, WE ALL TURN 60 THIS YEAR AND THE FIRST TO TURN WAS THE GUEST OF HONOR AT A LUNCHEON. WE JUST FOUND OUT ONE OF OUR GOOD FRIENDS HAS PARKINSONS, BUT IS DOING WELL. DOES 60 SOUND REALLY OLD TO YOU? IT REALLY GRABBED MY ATTENTION. AGE IS NOT IMPORTANT TO ME, AS ALL YOU YOUNG LADIES KNOW, BUT 60? THAT IS 60 YEARS, FREAKIN' O-L-D.

AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVEN'T IMPROVED MY COMPUTER SKILLS. WHERE DID THAT NICE BLUE COLOR GO? MAYBE IN MY NEXT LIFE I'LL BE TECHNO-SAVVY. MAYBE THIS IS IT, NO. THIS, NO. HERE, I FOUND IT, BUT HOW DO I KEEP IT HERE?

I ALSO WANT TO ADD MUSIC TO MY BLOG, BUT I'M A LONG WAY FROM THERE.

I ENJOYED THE PIX, ELAINE. THANKS, THE KIDDOS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND WE LOVED THE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES. I BET YOUR HOUSE WAS A RIOT CHRISTMAS MORNING.
YOUR ANNA HAS GROWN TOO FAST, WHERE IS YOUR BABY? DON'T THE MONTHS FLY BY? BUT I WILL NOT GET SENTEMENTAL AND WEEPY ON YOU; JUST BECAUSE MY BABIES ARE ALL GROWN AND FLOWN AWAY. I JUST LOVED BEING A MOM OF YOUNGSTERS.
STACI, HOW ARE YOU? I ADMIRE YOUR DECISION TO BE STRONG, BUT DON'T BLOW OFF THIS DIAGNOSIS, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. I MEAN, YOU HAVE THAT "COOLEST MOM" STATUS TO MAINTAIN. BE GOOD TO YOURSELF, MADAM. THAT'S AN ORDER FROM MOTHERGOOSE.
ANGELA??? I KNOW YOU ARE THERE. TALK TO ME. I REALLY MISS YOU AND WILL HAVE TO RESORT TO PULLING LILA OUT FOR A PHONE CALL SOON. JUST TO SATISFY MY NOSY SELF. HOW ARE YOU GIRLIE? DID SAM AND ABBY ENJOY CHRISTMAS? PROBABLY NOT, HUH? ANY NEW GATORS OR HORSES AT YOUR PLACE? OR HAVE THEY BEEN REPLACED BY RHINOS AND WALLBYES?
ALISON, YOUR QUIET CHRISTMAS SOUNDS SWEET, JUST YOU, REX AND THE BOYS, HURRAY. WHAT NICE COMPANY TO CELEBRATE WITH. I DO HOPE YOUR DAD IS DOING BETTER AND GAINING STRENGTH DAILY. NEVER GOOD TO HAVE ILL PARENTS. THAT ALWAYS MAKE ME FEEL SO HELPLESS. A CHILD I CAN BE STRONG FOR, BUT MY MOM SHOULD NOT GET SICK. EVEN AT 60 SOME THINGS WE AREN'T READY FOR.
STEPHEN KING BOUGHT 10 NEW SHEEP LAST WEEK, HAIR SHEEP. THEY DON'T NEED TO BE SHORN, BUT SHEDD THEIR WOOL. I CANNOT WAIT FOR LAMBS. OUR NAVAJO SHEEP ARE DUE IN THE SPRING, THE BUCK, ZORRO, APPEARS TO HAVE ACCOMPLISHED HIS MISSION. LAMBS ARE LOVELY THINGS. HIS SISTER WANTS TO LEARN TO SPIN AND WEAVE WITH OUR WOOL. I'VE TRIED, BUT SEEM TO BE DISABLED WHEN I GET A DROP SPINNER IN MY HANDS. AND THER IS NO WAY I'D BE ABLE TO OPERATE A SPINNING WHEEL. I'D FALL OFF AND GET HURT. I'LL STICK TO QUILTING, ATLEAST I ONLY GET PRICKED DOING THAT

TALK TO ME LADIES. LOVE TO ALL AND BEST WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR. HEDY.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
We are off to Evansville for 1 more family day; shopping, with gift cards and lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant, which I cannot remember the name of. I've decided to start aa new quilt tomorrow to use up lots and lots of scrap fabric. Leave it to me to wait till the last few hours of break to start something big. Oh, well, maybe it will be finished in time for Anna or Kirstie to wrap a baby in! Love to you all and hopes for a very blessed year for all of us. Hedy

I had a great break... and boy did I need it. Unfortunately I don't feel all that refreshed. We were very busy with family... in a good way of course. Yes, we had a wedding Jan 3. The groom lost his mother to Cancer just 2 months ago. It was a very emotional day to say the least.
When we did find ourselves with time to spare we went museum hopping in Indy and painted the living room. "Welcome Mat" is the color... I call it tan. It's much better than dingey white. Decorating/coordinating my home is one of my many resolutions. Along with millions of others I have also made the resolution to get more exercise, but I sware to have fun doing it. Like yesterday I turned on some music and danced around my house like a fool for 25 minutes (and i feel it today).
I hope everyone is doing well. Let's stop talking about a gaggle get-together and plan one. With that said... I can't really do it in January.

I agree with Kirstie...let's plan the gaggle reunion! I'm good whenever...I'm sure the baby will work around our gaggle reunion, right? Speaking of that...18 days and counting...unless of course we go with the other due date and then that means 6 days....oh sh**!!! (ear muffs, Jill) I'd better go pack my bag!

So, let us know what you guys think for a date and let's get it on our calendars!

Before I sign off, let me leave you with a funny 2 year old story....this evening on the way home from town, I was really struggling trying to understand what Avery was trying to say to me...she was repeating it and repeating it and I started to think she was actually saying "bull sh** mommy." I thought about it on the way home and couldn't believe it. I was fuming, thinking that Brian had said this in front of her and he was about to get a major lecture! Then I coughed and I hear her little voice in the back say the same thing again and again...."bless you mommy, bless you mommy." What kind of a terrible mom am I? I thought she was cussing at me for a good 10 minutes and I was about 10 seconds from ripping her father's head off!! Eat my words...guess I was wrong. How sweet is that???

Okay, I know I have heard you ladies talk about the Harmony student data system. For some reason I was thinking that it was what everyone was getting away from... or do I have it backward? Is my school totally out of the loop or is Harmony what many are starting to use?

Kirstie, we have been with STI for several years with terrible service and are now switching to Skyward. Harmony was also in the running, it looked OK to me when it was reviewed here. But we all no I'm no judge of technology.

Kirstie...let's talk about Harmony....I have my frustrations with them, but it revolves around scheduling issues. Since you won't have to do scheduling things, then you will most likely like it. I have a very good friend that works for them and I feel that we are lucky to have her in our area because she is able to offer tech support right away. It has a lot of very useful features, so hang in there....your school isn't going backwards...it is my understanding Harmony is really growing. I can fill you in more if you need more info....

Glad to hear all is well with others. Things are busy and back to usual around here. We had a nice break. Now it's crazy with ball games, Trent's practice and games, Financial aid night was last night and the semester ends next Friday. We are trying to resolve the many unusual issues that common prep time has given us. We flipped some teacher's schedules this afternoon. They will love us... Well, maybe not so much. My sister is home for the week so we are having Christmas on sunday with my family. Not really looking forward to that, but looking forward to seeing my sister. The boys are anxious as well. They had such a good time with her in October, they have been chomping at the bit to see her now that she's here.

Hope everyone's week is going well. Gaggle reunion soon sounds good. I'm pretty open. STay warm. Love to all.
